We are custodians of New England’s literary underground. From the heart of  New Hampshire we don’t simply publish books—we unearth the eccentric, poetic, and beautifully bruised soul of the region. Through PlaidSwede Media (Plaidswede Publishing and New Hampshire Booksellers), we are rogue cartographers mapping the true landscape of New England literature.

PlaidSwede Media is a family-built independent press rooted in Concord, New Hampshire. Founded as Plaidswede Publishing and expanded through NH Booksellers, we champion writers, histories, and voices too distinctive to fit neatly into categories.

We believe every frost-heaved road holds a secret, every dilapidated barn houses a ghost, and every New Englander harbors a masterpiece waiting for ink. Our roster makes room for scholars, historians, pulp-fiction writers, poets, and literary originals—because New England has never belonged to just one kind of storyteller. Our mission is to excavate these hidden narratives, bind them beautifully, and place them in the hands of fiercely curious readers who keep local culture alive.
